Indications
Metformin/Glibenclamide is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, especially in patients whose glycemic control is inadequate with monotherapy. This medication can be used in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin to achieve better control of blood glucose levels. Its use is recommended in overweight or obese patients, as well as those who require intensified glycemic control. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and dose adjustment as needed is important.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Metformin 500 mg and Glibenclamide 5 mg. Excipients: Lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, in those with severe kidney disease, liver failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in patients at high risk of hypoglycemia. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Metformin/Glibenclamide in patients with a history of heart disease, liver, or kidney disorders. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and awareness of hypoglycemia symptoms are essential. In addition, treatment interruption should be considered in stressful situations, such as surgery or infections, where the need for insulin may increase.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of reach of children. Keep at temperatures below 30°C.
