Indications
Metformin/Glibenclamide is indicated in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an adjunct to diet and exercise. This medication is used in patients who do not achieve adequate glycemic control with metformin or glibenclamide alone. Its use is recommended in adults and children over 10 years of age who are overweight and whose diabetes cannot be controlled solely with lifestyle changes.
This treatment is suggested for patients with persistent hyperglycemia, as well as those who require additional treatment to improve blood glucose control. Furthermore, it may be beneficial in patients with a history of myocardial infarction or cardiovascular disease, although always under appropriate medical supervision.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Metformin 500 mg and Glibenclamide 2.5 mg.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal failure, severe liver diseases, and during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal insufficiency, risk factors for lactic acidosis, as well as in patients over 65 years of age. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and kidney function is important. The administration of this medication may require dose adjustments in cases of changes in diet, physical activity, or during acute illness episodes.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
