Indications
Meteospasmyl is indicated for the treatment of symptoms related to functional bowel disorders, including abdominal cramps and abdominal distension. It is useful in situations of intestinal hyperactivity and in the management of discomfort associated with the accumulation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract. The combination of alverine, an antispasmodic, and simethicone, an antiflatulent, works by reducing intestinal spasms and facilitating the elimination of gases, providing relief in conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and other functional gastrointestinal disorders. Its use can be considered in patients with recurrent or chronic abdominal discomfort, always under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
Composition
Each Meteospasmyl capsule contains:
- Alverine: 60 mg
- Simethicone: 300 mg
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in cases of intestinal obstruction or severe gastrointestinal diseases. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergies to antispasmodics or antiflatulents.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease. It is important to evaluate the risk-benefit ratio in pregnant or lactating women. It is recommended to follow the doctor's instructions to avoid interactions with other medications the patient may be taking.
