Indications

Meronny is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections caused by meropenem-susceptible microorganisms. This product is effective in complicated intra-abdominal infections, lower respiratory tract infections, bacterial meningitis, and sepsis. The use of Meronny should be considered in patients with polymicrobial infections where broad-spectrum antibiotic activity is required. Additionally, it is useful in the treatment of infections in immunocompromised patients and those who have received previous antibiotic treatments.

Composition

Each ampule of Meronny contains 1 g of meropenem as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to meropenem, other carbapenem class antibiotics, or any of the excipients present in the formulation. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergies or anaphylactic reactions to other antibiotics.

Precautions

Careful evaluation is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustment may be necessary. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, as meropenem use may increase the risk of convulsive events. Patients should be monitored for possible adverse effects, especially during the first doses.

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
