Indications
Menavent Gel is indicated for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It is also used in the management of conditions requiring anticoagulation, such as prophylaxis in post-surgical patients or those with prolonged immobility. It is effective in reducing clot formation, thereby facilitating adequate blood circulation. Its use may extend to clinical situations where rapid anticoagulant action is needed, such as in patients at high risk of thrombosis.
Composition
Each 100 g of Menavent Gel contains: Heparin Sodium 10,000 units. Excipients: purified water, glycerin, hydroxyethylcellulose, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to heparin or other components of the formula. It should not be used in cases of active bleeding, bleeding disorders, or in patients who are being treated with oral anticoagulants without medical supervision. It is also contraindicated in patients with open skin lesions in the application area.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of bleeding, coagulation disorders, or those being treated with other anticoagulant medications. Constant monitoring of coagulation parameters is important in cases of prolonged use. It is also recommended to avoid application on open wounds or skin infections.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
