Indications

Maxopress is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of olmesartan and amlodipine allows for effective blood pressure control, improving patients' quality of life. This medication can be used in patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy, as well as in those with a high cardiovascular risk. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended during treatment.

Composition

Each Maxopress tablet contains:

  • Olmesartan medoxomil: 40 mg
  • Amlodipine: 10 mg

Contraindications

Maxopress is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components, in those with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or olmesartan. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or in a single functional kidney.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver failure, kidney failure, or those receiving diuretic treatment. Renal function and blood potassium levels should be monitored, especially at the start of treatment. Additionally, elderly patients and those with comorbid conditions that may increase the risk of adverse effects should be observed.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light.
