Indications
Lysomucil Solution 2% is indicated in the treatment of respiratory diseases where there is excessive mucus production, such as in cases of acute and chronic bronchitis, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This medication acts as a mucolytic, facilitating the elimination of secretions and improving respiratory function. It is also used in the treatment of paracetamol poisoning, as it helps protect the liver by increasing glutathione levels.
Composition
Each 100 ml of Lysomucil contains 2 g of acetylcysteine as the active ingredient. Excipients include: purified water, hydrochloric acid, and other inert components that allow for product formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine or any of the formula's components. It is also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, as it may worsen their condition.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with asthma, as it may cause bronchospasm in some cases. Additionally, monitoring is recommended for patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. Concomitant use with certain medications is advised against due to possible interactions. Keep the medication out of reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from direct light. Do not refrigerate. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children.
