Indications
Lysomucil is indicated for the treatment of conditions characterized by excessive mucus production, such as acute and chronic bronchitis, and in chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). Its mucolytic action facilitates the elimination of secretions, improving respiratory function. Additionally, it can be used as part of the management of cystic fibrosis and in cases of paracetamol poisoning, where it acts as an antidote by facilitating the elimination of paracetamol's toxic metabolite.
Composition
Each Lysomucil sachet contains 200 mg of acetylcysteine as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that allow for the correct formulation of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with active peptic ulcer, as it may increase the risk of hemorrhagic complications.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Lysomucil to patients with asthma, as bronchospasm has been reported in some cases. Additionally, medical supervision is recommended for patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, as well as those with renal or hepatic insufficiency. It is important to maintain adequate hydration during treatment to facilitate the elimination of secretions.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
