Indications
Lumigan is indicated for the treatment of ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. This medication works by increasing the drainage of aqueous humor, which results in a decrease in intraocular pressure. Lumigan administration is recommended for patients who require effective control of intraocular pressure, either as monotherapy or in combination with other medications for the treatment of glaucoma.
Composition
Each ml of Lumigan contains 0.1 mg of Bimatoprost. It also contains excipients such as sodium chloride, benzenebutanoic acid, and purified water.
Contraindications
Lumigan should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to bimatoprost or any of the product's excipients. Its use is contraindicated in patients with active ocular infections, as well as in those with conditions that may affect the integrity of the ocular surface.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Lumigan in patients with a history of respiratory diseases, especially severe asthma. Additionally, patients with a history of uveitis or ocular inflammation should be monitored. It is important to avoid contact of the dropper with the eye or adjacent surfaces to prevent contamination of the product.
Storage
Store Lumigan at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light. Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the package.
