Indications

Lonactene Rt is indicated for the prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony. It is also used to induce labor in specific situations where stimulation of uterine contractions is required, as well as in obstetric surgical procedures. Carbetocin, its active ingredient, acts as an oxytocin analog, promoting uterine muscle contraction and thus contributing to reduced bleeding.

Composition

Each ampoule contains: Carbetocin 100 mg and excipients.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to carbetocin or any of its components, as well as in situations where increased uterine contractility is contraindicated, such as in certain cases of cesarean section, dystocia, or in a fetus with specific conditions that could be affected by uterine stimulation.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, or those with any uterine abnormality. Likewise, patients should be monitored during medication administration to identify possible side effects or adverse reactions. Administration must be performed by trained medical personnel.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
