Indications

Lipovenoes MCT is indicated for intravenous administration in patients requiring parenteral nutritional support, especially in those with fat absorption disorders. It is used in situations of malnutrition, such as in patients with gastrointestinal diseases, malabsorption syndromes, or those who are critically ill and cannot receive adequate nutrition orally or enterally. It is also useful in the management of patients with burns, severe trauma, or during and after major surgeries. The administration of intravenous lipids helps provide energy and prevent lean body mass loss in situations of metabolic stress.

Composition

Each 100 ml of Lipovenoes MCT contains: Medium-chain triglycerides 20 g, in addition to emulsifiers and other excipients that facilitate its intravenous administration.

Contraindications

Lipovenoes MCT should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components. It is contraindicated in patients with coagulation disorders, active pancreatitis, or in cases of severe respiratory failure. It is also contraindicated in those with uncontrolled severe hyperlipidemia and in situations where lipid administration may aggravate the patient's clinical condition.

Precautions

It is recommended to monitor blood lipid levels during the administration of Lipovenoes MCT, as well as the patient's liver and kidney function. Administration should be carried out by trained medical personnel, and caution should be exercised in patients with heart or lung diseases. The infusion should be performed slowly and under vigilance to detect possible adverse reactions.
