Indications
Leptopsique is indicated in the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and other schizophrenic disorders. It is also used in the management of agitation and aggression symptoms in patients with mental disorders. Perphenazine works by blocking dopamine receptors in the central nervous system, which helps reduce psychotic symptoms.
Composition
Each Leptopsique tablet contains 10 mg of perphenazine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Leptopsique is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to perphenazine or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with Parkinson's disease, severe depression, or those who are in a coma. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of QT interval prolongation or those taking medications that may cause cardiac conduction abnormalities.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Leptopsique to patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, liver or kidney disorders. It is important to monitor for the appearance of extrapyramidal symptoms and consider dose reduction if they occur. Likewise, it is recommended to evaluate the risk of neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a serious and potentially fatal adverse effect.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
