Indications

Kamedix (Dexmedetomidine) is indicated for the sedation of patients in intensive care settings and during surgical procedures. Its use is appropriate for the sedation of adult patients on mechanical ventilation, as well as in diagnostic or surgical procedures where a moderate level of sedation is required. This medication acts as a sedative and analgesic, promoting a state of calm and comfort, thus facilitating patient cooperation during the intervention. It has also been used in short-duration procedures in non-surgical environments, as well as for the sedation of pediatric patients in specific situations, under strict medical supervision.

Composition

Each Kamedix ampoule contains 200 mcg of Dexmedetomidine in a solution suitable for intravenous administration.

Contraindications

Kamedix is not recommended for use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Dexmedetomidine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Furthermore, its use is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, untreated second- or third-degree atrioventricular block, and in those with severe respiratory failure.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, arterial hypertension, or who are receiving other medications that may affect their cardiovascular function. Constant monitoring of the patient's vital signs during administration is recommended. Use in geriatric and pediatric patients must be carried out with special attention and under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
