Indications
Idaptan (trimetazidine) is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of stable chronic angina and peripheral arterial insufficiency. Trimetazidine acts as a cellular protector by improving glucose utilization and myocardial energy efficiency, which can help reduce the frequency and intensity of anginal episodes. It is indicated in patients with symptoms of myocardial ischemia and in those who require additional treatment to conventional antianginal therapy. Additionally, it may be useful in the treatment of vestibular disorders, such as vertigo and associated syndromes.
Composition
Each Idaptan capsule contains 80 mg of trimetazidine in the form of dihydrochloride. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, gelatin, titanium dioxide, talc, among others.
Contraindications
Idaptan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to trimetazidine or to any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with Parkinson's disease or related movement disorders, as well as in those with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Idaptan to patients with a history of movement disorders or neurodegenerative diseases. Likewise, its use in elderly patients should be carefully evaluated. It is essential to monitor renal function before and during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
