Indications

Humira (adalimumab) is indicated for the treatment of various autoimmune conditions. It is used in adults for the treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, plaque psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis in pediatric patients. Additionally, it is indicated in patients with hidradenitis suppurativa and non-infectious uveitis. Humira's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), which helps reduce inflammation and disease progression.

Composition

Each Humira syringe contains 40 mg of adalimumab as the active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients such as mannitol, acetic acid, sodium acetate, and water for injection. The formulation does not contain preservatives.

Contraindications

Humira is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to adalimumab or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in individuals with severe infections, active or latent tuberculosis without adequate treatment, and in those with active malignant diseases.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of recurrent infections, demyelinating diseases, heart failure, or those who have received immunosuppressive therapies. Tuberculosis screening is recommended before starting treatment.

Storage

Humira should be stored refrigerated between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. It should not be frozen. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
