Indications

Histofil is indicated for the prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency in adults and children. It is used in cases of osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and rickets, as well as in conditions affecting vitamin D absorption, such as gastrointestinal and liver diseases. It is also used in the treatment of diseases requiring additional vitamin D intake, such as chronic kidney failure.

Composition

Each Histofil tablet contains:

  • Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) - 1000 IU

Contraindications

Histofil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cholecalciferol or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of hypercalcemia or hypervitaminosis D. Furthermore, its use should be avoided in patients with severe kidney disease or kidney stones.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with heart disease, kidney disease, or who are taking other vitamin D supplements. Adequate monitoring of serum calcium levels is important in patients undergoing prolonged treatment. In patients with a history of kidney stones, constant medical supervision is recommended.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
