Indications

Hipebe (tamsulosin) is indicated for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This condition is characterized by an enlarged prostate, which can cause difficulty initiating urination, increased urinary frequency, urinary urgency, and a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. Tamsulosin acts as a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, which relaxes the smooth muscle in the prostate and urethra, thereby facilitating urine flow and improving the patient's quality of life.

Composition

Each Hipebe capsule contains 0.4 mg of tamsulosin (as tamsulosin hydrochloride) and excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Hipebe is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tamsulosin or any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of orthostatic hypotension, as the medication may cause drops in blood pressure.

Precautions

Careful evaluation is recommended for patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as the metabolism and elimination of tamsulosin may be affected. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients who are being treated with other antihypertensives, due to the risk of hypotension.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
