Indications
Furavitem is a high-potency diuretic indicated for the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, liver diseases, nephrotic syndrome, and other conditions that require the elimination of fluids from the body. It is also used in the management of arterial hypertension, as it contributes to blood pressure reduction by eliminating sodium and water through urine. It is especially useful in situations where rapid control of fluid retention is required, as well as in cases of acute and chronic renal failure.
Composition
Each Furavitem ampoule contains: Furosemide 20 mg in 2 ml of injectable solution.
Contraindications
Furavitem is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to furosemide or to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with anuria, severe dehydration, and in cases of patients with renal insufficiency who do not respond to furosemide. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of allergic reactions to sulfonamides.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver disease, diabetes mellitus, gout, electrolyte disorders, and in those who are receiving other medications that may affect renal function. Regular monitoring of electrolytes and renal function is recommended during treatment. In addition, the possibility of adverse effects in elderly or debilitated patients should be considered.
Storage
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
