Indications

Fosfocil IV is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various parts of the body, including urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and is used in the management of complicated infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to fosfomycin. This medication is especially useful in patients with infections caused by bacterial strains resistant to other antibiotics, as well as for prophylaxis in surgical procedures where infection prevention is required. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by a physician to ensure effectiveness and minimize the risk of bacterial resistance.

Composition

Each ampoule of Fosfocil contains 1 g of fosfomycin as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation and preservation.

Contraindications

The use of Fosfocil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fosfomycin or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency, as well as in those who present conditions that may be aggravated by the use of antibiotics.

Precautions

Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of kidney or liver disease, as well as in those receiving concomitant treatments that may affect renal function. Clinical and laboratory monitoring during treatment is recommended to detect possible adverse effects or drug interactions.

Storage

Fosfocil IV should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
