Indications
Fisiofer Solution is indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency in patients requiring additional iron intake. It is particularly useful in cases of iron deficiency anemia, which can occur during pregnancy, lactation, inadequate diets, and in people with conditions that increase the need for iron, such as chronic bleeding or gastrointestinal diseases affecting nutrient absorption. This product is designed to improve hemoglobin levels and iron stores in the body, thereby contributing to the patient's general well-being.
Composition
Each 15 ml of Fisiofer solution contains 40 mg of iron in the form of iron (III) polymaltose complex. Additionally, it may contain excipients such as purified water, citric acid, and other components that facilitate the product's stability and presentation.
Contraindications
Fisiofer is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to iron or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of iron overload, hemochromatosis, or hemosiderosis. Likewise, its use should be avoided in patients with non-iron deficiency anemia, as it would not be effective in these cases.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those undergoing treatment with other iron supplements. It is important to monitor blood iron levels to avoid iron toxicity, especially in children who may be more susceptible to adverse effects.
