Indications
Firsito is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders in adults. It is also used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. Escitalopram acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), increasing the concentration of serotonin in the brain, which can help improve mood, reduce anxiety, and promote overall emotional well-being.
Composition
Each Firsito tablet contains 10 mg of escitalopram as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to escitalopram or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients who have received MAOI treatment in the last two weeks. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of manic or suicidal disorders, as well as those at high risk of suicide.
Precautions
Special care is recommended in patients with a history of seizure disorders, bipolar disorders, or who are being treated with other medications that affect the central nervous system. It is important to monitor patients for signs of clinical deterioration, especially at the start of treatment or when adjusting the dose. The use of escitalopram is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.
Storage
Firsito should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep the medication out of the reach of children.
