Indications
Filatil (Filgrastim) is indicated for the prevention of neutropenia (low white blood cell count) in patients receiving cytotoxic chemotherapy, as well as for the treatment of neutropenia in patients with hematological disorders. It is also used in patients who require an increase in the production of hematopoietic stem cells, such as in bone marrow transplants or stem cell mobilization. Furthermore, it is indicated for the treatment of congenital or cyclic neutropenia in adults and children.
Composition
Each Filatil syringe contains 300 mcg of Filgrastim as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Filatil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Filgrastim or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other E. coli-derived products.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with pre-existing lung diseases, as episodes of lung damage have been reported. Likewise, it is important to regularly monitor hemoglobin and platelet levels, as well as renal and liver function during treatment. Filatil should not be used in patients undergoing chemotherapy that involves a risk of myelosuppression.
Storage
Store in a refrigerator between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep the product in its original packaging to protect it from light. Keep out of reach of children.
