Indications
Filatil (Filgrastim) is indicated for the prevention of febrile neutropenia in patients undergoing cytotoxic chemotherapy who are at high risk of developing neutropenia. It is also used for the treatment of persistent neutropenia in patients with hematological disorders, and for the mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells in donors and recipients. Filgrastim works by stimulating the production of white blood cells, particularly neutrophils, which are essential for fighting infections.
Composition
Each ampoule contains 300 mcg of Filgrastim as the active ingredient. Excipients: water for injection, acetic acid, sodium chloride, among others.
Contraindications
Filatil is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to filgrastim or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with acute myeloid leukemia or those requiring chemotherapy treatment incompatible with the use of this medication.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with pre-existing pulmonary diseases, heart disease, or those who have had adverse reactions to other growth factors. It is important to monitor clinical response and side effects during treatment.
Storage
Store in refrigeration between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep in its original packaging to protect from light. Once prepared, it should be used immediately or can be stored at room temperature for a limited period, according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
