Indications
Feniffler-T is indicated for the treatment of convulsive seizures in patients with epilepsy. It is used to control both partial and generalized seizures. Phenytoin works by stabilizing the neuronal membrane, which helps prevent the spread of abnormal electrical activity in the brain. In addition, it can be used in the management of ventricular arrhythmias, as well as in the prevention of postoperative seizures. Constant medical monitoring is recommended to adjust the appropriate dose and monitor for possible adverse effects.
Composition
Each Feniffler-T tablet contains:
- Phenytoin Sodium: 100 mg
- Excipients: Croscarmellose sodium, corn starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Feniffler-T is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to phenytoin or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with second and third-degree heart block, as well as in those with a history of Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Feniffler-T to patients with a history of heart disease, diabetes, anemia, and in those who consume alcohol or who are undergoing treatment with other medications that may interact with phenytoin. Regular monitoring of phenytoin plasma levels is important, especially in patients initiating treatment or experiencing changes in their health status.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
