Indications

Phenazopyridine is a urinary analgesic indicated for the relief of pain, burning, irritation, and discomfort in the urinary tract. It is commonly used in the symptomatic treatment of conditions such as cystitis, urethritis, and other urinary tract infections. This medication works by relieving symptoms related to urinary tract irritation, providing a local analgesic effect. Phenazopyridine does not treat the underlying cause of the infection, so its use in combination with antibiotics is recommended in cases of bacterial infections. Its effect can be observed within a short period, providing pain relief within the first 24 hours of use.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Phenazopyridine 100 mg.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to phenazopyridine or any of its excipients. It should not be administered to patients with severe kidney disease, due to problems with drug elimination. It is also contraindicated in patients with hemolytic anemia and those with significant liver disorders.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when used in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those taking other medications. Prolonged use of phenazopyridine without medical supervision is advisable. Renal function monitoring is recommended for patients using this medication for extended periods.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
