Indications

Ezagun (memantine) is indicated for the treatment of patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. Memantine acts as an NMDA receptor modulator, contributing to the improvement of cognitive function and daily activities in patients. It is important to note that this medication is not a curative treatment, but rather helps to alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients diagnosed with this disease.

Composition

Each Ezagun tablet contains 10 mg of memantine as the active ingredient. Additionally, the formulation includes excipients that facilitate the absorption and stability of the medication.

Contraindications

Ezagun is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to memantine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate < 30 ml/min). It should also be avoided in patients with a history of uncontrolled seizures.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Ezagun to patients with a history of seizures, as it may increase the risk of convulsive episodes. Likewise, it is important to monitor kidney function during treatment, especially in elderly patients or those with pre-existing conditions that may affect kidney function. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established.

Storage

Ezagun should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
