Indications

Exelon Patch is indicated for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate dementia associated with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's dementia. Rivastigmine, its active ingredient, acts as an acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase inhibitor, which helps to improve cognitive function and daily living activities in these patients. Administration via a patch allows for continuous and controlled release of the drug, which can result in better treatment adherence.

Composition

Each Exelon patch contains 18 mg of rivastigmine, as well as excipients necessary for its proper formulation and functioning.

Contraindications

Exelon Patch should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to rivastigmine or any of the product's excipients. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of severe skin reactions or irritation at the application site.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of peptic ulcer, seizures, or lung problems, as well as in those receiving concomitant treatment with other drugs that affect cholinergic activity. It is essential to monitor the patient's response and adjust the dose as needed.

Storage

Store in its original packaging at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
