Indications
Exel, whose active ingredient is meloxicam, is indicated for the treatment of various conditions involving pain and inflammation. It is frequently used in the management of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, providing relief from the symptoms of these degenerative conditions. In addition, it can be used in the management of acute pain, such as postoperative pain and pain associated with musculoskeletal injuries. This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are key mediators in inflammatory and painful processes.
Composition
Each Exel tablet contains 15 mg of meloxicam as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Exel is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to meloxicam or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of active gastric or intestinal ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, and in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other NSAIDs. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe non-dialyzed renal failure.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Exel to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, renal or hepatic insufficiency. It is advisable to monitor patients on long-term treatment to detect possible adverse effects. The use of this medication should be reviewed in the context of other therapies the patient is receiving, particularly other NSAIDs or anticoagulants.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use the medication after the expiration date indicated on the package.
