Indications

Exaprem is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders in adults. It is also used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. Its action is based on the selective inhibition of serotonin reuptake, which helps to improve mood and reduce anxiety. The use of Exaprem may be beneficial in patients who experience symptoms such as persistent sadness, loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities, and difficulty concentrating.

Composition

Each tablet contains 10 mg of escitalopram as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other inactive excipients.

Contraindications

Exaprem is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to escitalopram or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in combination with MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) and in patients who have recently discontinued the use of these medications. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of mania or hypomania.

Precautions

It is recommended to assess the risk of suicide in young patients and in those with a history of suicidal disorders. The use of Exaprem must be supervised by a physician, especially during the first months of treatment. Caution should also be exercised in patients with liver or kidney problems. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment.

Storage

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
