Indications
Evipress is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension. Lowering blood pressure can help prevent complications associated with hypertension, such as strokes and heart disease. Lercanidipine, its active ingredient, acts as a calcium channel antagonist, causing relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and, consequently, vasodilation. This medication is particularly useful for patients who require effective long-term blood pressure control.
Composition
Each Evipress tablet contains 10 mg of lercanidipine as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other inactive excipients that facilitate tablet formulation.
Contraindications
Evipress is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lercanidipine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment, decompensated heart failure, and those in a state of shock. Its use in combination with other antihypertensives should be done with caution.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, moderate renal or hepatic impairment. In these cases, regular monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is recommended. Furthermore, alcohol consumption should be avoided, as it can enhance the hypotensive effects of lercanidipine.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
