Indications
Euflexxa is indicated for the treatment of pain associated with knee osteoarthritis in patients who have not responded adequately to non-pharmacological treatments and analgesics. This medication acts as a lubricant and shock absorber within the joint, helping to improve mobility and reduce inflammation. It is recommended in cases where the goal is to improve the patient's quality of life and minimize joint pain.
Composition
Each Euflexxa syringe contains 20 mg of sodium hyaluronate in 2 ml of solution. This compound is a polysaccharide found naturally in the body, especially in the synovial fluid of joints. Its main function is to provide viscosity and elasticity to the joint fluid, facilitating movement and reducing friction between the cartilages.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to sodium hyaluronate or any of the formulation components. It should not be administered in cases of joint infections or skin infections adjacent to the injection site. Likewise, its use should be avoided in patients with bleeding disorders or those undergoing anticoagulant treatment without proper supervision.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of allergic reactions. The injection should be administered by a trained healthcare professional under aseptic conditions to avoid infections. It is important to inform the doctor about any concomitant treatments the patient is receiving.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Storage temperature should not exceed 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
