Indications
Etoricoxib is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and the management of postoperative pain. Its action is based on the selective inhibition of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which results in a reduction of prostaglandin synthesis, mediators of pain and inflammation. This medication can be used in patients with mild to moderate pain, as well as in conditions requiring long-term pain management, under medical supervision.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Etoricoxib 90 mg. Excipients: Lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to Etoricoxib or any of the excipients. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe heart failure, and in those receiving treatment with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Precautions
It is recommended to use with caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or kidney disease. Renal function should be assessed before initiating treatment and monitored periodically during use. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
