Indications

Esbelcaps is indicated as part of a comprehensive treatment for the management of anxiety disorders, as well as in the treatment of obesity in selected patients. Its formulation combines the effects of fenproporex, an appetite suppressant, with diazepam, which acts as an anxiolytic. It is important to note that this medication must be used under strict medical supervision, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient and their clinical history.

Composition

Each Esbelcaps capsule contains: 20 mg of fenproporex and 6 mg of diazepam. Excipients are: gelatin, starch, and other inactive components that may vary depending on the presentation.

Contraindications

Esbelcaps is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with closed-angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory insufficiency, and in patients with a history of substance abuse. It should not be administered in combination with other drugs that have depressant effects on the central nervous system without adequate medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of depression, liver or kidney problems, as well as in the elderly and children. Prolonged use of diazepam can lead to dependence, so it should be administered cautiously and under strict medical supervision. Additionally, the possibility of interactions with other medications the patient is using should be evaluated.

Storage

Store Esbelcaps in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
