Indications
Endocodil IR is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It is used in patients who require effective pain management, especially in those who do not respond to non-opioid analgesics. Oxycodone acts on the central nervous system, altering the perception and emotional response to pain. This medication is useful in clinical situations such as postoperative pain, cancer pain, and chronic pain in specific conditions, always under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
Composition
Each Endocodil IR tablet contains 20 mg of oxycodone as the active ingredient. Excipients are used to facilitate the formulation and stability of the medication.
Contraindications
Endocodil IR is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to oxycodone or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe respiratory depression, uncontrolled bronchial asthma, or in those who are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Its use in patients with a history of substance abuse or addiction disorders must be carefully evaluated.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with respiratory diseases, such as COPD, or in those with compromised hepatic or renal function. Close monitoring is recommended in elderly or debilitated patients. Treatment should not be abruptly discontinued, as this may lead to withdrawal symptoms.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
