Indications
Dutamid is indicated for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. The combination of Dutasteride and Tamsulosin acts synergistically to reduce prostate size and improve urinary flow, thereby alleviating symptoms such as difficulty initiating urination, frequent need to urinate, and feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. It is also used in the preventive treatment of BPH-related complications and can help reduce the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for prostate-related surgery.
Composition
Each Dutamid capsule contains:
- Dutasteride 0.50 mg
- Tamsulosin 0.40 mg
Contraindications
Dutamid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in women, especially those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, due to the potential risk of adverse effects on the fetus or infant.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver failure, as well as in those receiving concomitant therapy with medications that may affect the metabolism of Dutamid components. Regular patient follow-up is important to assess treatment response and the appearance of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light.
