Indications
Dostein Suspension is indicated for the treatment of respiratory conditions where a mucolytic and expectorant action is required. It is useful in cases of acute and chronic bronchitis, as well as in other conditions that involve abundant bronchial secretions. Erdosteine acts by facilitating the elimination of secretions and improving respiratory function by reducing mucus viscosity. Its use is indicated in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and in flu syndromes where respiratory congestion is a predominant symptom.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 175 mg of erdosteine. Excipients: purified water, glycerin, sorbitol, citric acid, among other components that allow for the proper formulation of the product.
Contraindications
Dostein should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to erdosteine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with active gastric ulcer or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of asthma or chronic respiratory diseases, as well as in those with renal or hepatic insufficiency. Medical monitoring is recommended during treatment to evaluate the response to the medication and adjust the dose if necessary. Prolonged use without medical supervision is not recommended.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
