Indications
Dimegan D is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergies, such as allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, nasal itching, rhinorrhea, and nasal congestion. It is also used to relieve common cold symptoms, which may include nasal congestion and sinus pressure. Its combination of loratadine, an antihistamine, and phenylephrine, a decongestant, allows for a synergistic effect that helps improve patients' quality of life by reducing inflammation and facilitating breathing.
Composition
Each Dimegan D capsule contains 5 mg of loratadine and 20 mg of phenylephrine as active ingredients. It also includes excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in those with severe hypertension, serious heart conditions, or in patients who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with high blood pressure, heart conditions, or thyroid problems. Furthermore, it is advisable for individuals who drive vehicles or operate heavy machinery to avoid using this medication, as it may cause drowsiness. It should not be used during pregnancy or lactation without proper medical supervision.
