Indications

Difenhistat is indicated for the treatment of allergic symptoms, such as allergic rhinitis and urticaria. It is also used for the management of hypersensitivity manifestations, as well as in the treatment of occasional insomnia episodes. Additionally, this medication may be useful in the prevention and treatment of allergic reactions to medications and insect bites. Its use is recommended within the context of a therapeutic regimen that includes prior medical evaluation.

Composition

Each ml of Difenhistat contains 10 mg of diphenhydramine in an appropriate vehicle. For more information on excipients and other components, it is recommended to consult the medication leaflet.

Contraindications

Difenhistat is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diphenhydramine or other antihistamines. It should not be used in patients with closed-angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia, or in those with conditions that may be aggravated by the anticholinergic action of the drug. Furthermore, its use is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma or COPD, as well as in those with cardiovascular diseases. The use of Difenhistat can cause drowsiness; therefore, it is recommended to avoid activities that require mental attention or motor coordination until the individual response to the medication is known. Likewise, alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment with this medication.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
