Indications

Diazepam is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, control of muscle spasms, and as premedication in surgical procedures. This medication acts on the central nervous system, providing a sedative and anxiolytic effect. It is also used in the management of withdrawal syndrome in patients with alcohol dependence and in the treatment of seizures. It is important that the use of this medication be supervised by a doctor, who will evaluate the need for its use and the duration of the treatment.

Composition

Each Diazepam tablet contains 10 mg of diazepam as the active ingredient. In addition, excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, and magnesium stearate are included.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diazepam or to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory insufficiency, and sleep apnea syndrome. Its use should be avoided in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution is recommended when using Diazepam in patients with a history of substance abuse, depression, or liver diseases. Prolonged use can lead to dependence, so it should be used under strict medical supervision. It should not be combined with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
