Indications

Dexivant (Dexlansoprazole) is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults. Specifically, it is used for the healing of erosive esophagitis associated with GERD and for the management of GERD symptoms, such as heartburn. It has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of reflux esophagitis, helping to reduce the frequency of acid reflux episodes and improving patients' quality of life.

Composition

Each Dexivant capsule contains 60 mg of Dexlansoprazole as the active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other components that allow for the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Dexivant is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Dexlansoprazole or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use should be avoided in individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions to other proton pump inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those taking medications that may interact with Dexlansoprazole. It is important to monitor patients who present symptoms such as unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting, or hematemesis, as these may be indicative of more serious conditions.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
