Indications
Coversam is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adult patients. The combination of Perindopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI), and Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, provides effective blood pressure reduction, which can help decrease the risk of cardiovascular events, such as myocardial infarction or stroke. This medication is primarily used in patients who have not achieved adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy.
Composition
Each Coversam tablet contains 5 mg of Perindopril and 5 mg of Amlodipine as active ingredients. Additionally, it contains excipients such as lactose, starch, and other components that facilitate tablet formulation.
Contraindications
Coversam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components, in those with a history of angioedema associated with ACEI treatment, and in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis. It should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in cases of severe hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Coversam to patients with renal insufficiency, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, or those taking other antihypertensives. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is recommended during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
