Indications
Co-Tarsan is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. Its formula combines Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, allowing for effective blood pressure reduction. This medication can also be used in hypertensive patients with heart failure or in those with diabetic nephropathy, contributing to renal protection in diabetic patients.
Composition
Each Co-Tarsan tablet contains 50 mg of Losartan and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide as active ingredients. The formulation is supplemented with appropriate excipients to ensure the stability and effectiveness of the medication.
Contraindications
Co-Tarsan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Losartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in those with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatments. It should not be used in patients with anuria or those with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
It is important to periodically monitor blood pressure and blood electrolytes during treatment with Co-Tarsan. Caution is recommended in patients with a history of gout, liver or kidney disease, as well as in those taking other antihypertensive medications. In cases of dehydration or hypovolemia, the use of this medication should be carefully evaluated.
Storage
Store in a dry and cool place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
