Indications

Clopixol Depot is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia and other acute and chronic psychotic disorders. It is also used in patients requiring long-term control of psychotic symptoms. This medication can be beneficial for those with symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and thought disorganization. Clopixol Depot is administered by intramuscular injection, which allows for a prolonged release of the active substance into the body, thus facilitating treatment adherence in patients who tend to forget oral medication.

Composition

Each ampoule of Clopixol Depot contains 200 mg of zuclopenthixol in a solution suitable for intramuscular injection.

Contraindications

Clopixol Depot is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to zuclopenthixol or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of severe central nervous system depression, coma, or in situations of alcohol or drug intoxication. Additionally, its use is contraindicated in patients with a history of agranulocytosis or in those with severe liver diseases.

Precautions

Caution is recommended when administering Clopixol Depot to patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, seizure disorders, or Parkinson's disease. Special care should also be taken in elderly patients and those with pre-existing medical conditions. It is important to monitor patients for signs of adverse reactions, especially during the first few weeks of treatment.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
