Indications

Clopidogrel is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients who have experienced a myocardial infarction, an ischemic stroke, or have peripheral arterial disease. It is also used in patients with acute coronary syndrome to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications. This medication acts as a P2Y12 receptor inhibitor, which decreases platelet aggregation and, therefore, the risk of clot formation.

Composition

Each tablet contains 75 mg of clopidogrel (as clopidogrel bisulfate) as the active ingredient, in addition to inactive excipients that ensure the stability and efficacy of the medication.

Contraindications

Clopidogrel is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clopidogrel or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding, such as gastrointestinal or intracranial hemorrhage, as well as in those with severe liver diseases that may compromise hemostasis.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of hemorrhage, peptic ulcers, bleeding disorders, and in those who are being treated with other medications that may increase the risk of bleeding. Regular clinical and hematological monitoring is recommended in patients who may be at risk of bleeding.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and avoid direct light exposure.
