Indications

Clonazepam is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and as an adjunctive treatment in convulsive disorders. Its action is based on the modulation of the activity of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, which generates an anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, and sedative effect. This medication can be used in the management of epileptic seizures and in the treatment of certain sleep disorders, always under medical supervision.

Composition

Each 2 mg Clonazepam tablet contains: Clonazepam 2 mg, excipients q.s. for 1 tablet.

Contraindications

Clonazepam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clonazepam or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome, and in patients with a history of substance abuse. Its use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully evaluated due to possible adverse effects on the fetus or infant.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of depression, liver or kidney diseases, and in those who are being treated with other medications that depress the central nervous system. The administration of Clonazepam can cause dependence, so regular medical follow-up is recommended and abrupt discontinuation of treatment should be avoided.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
