Indications

Clonazepam is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and seizure disorders, including epilepsy. Its mechanism of action is based on potentiating the effect of the GABA neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, which produces a sedative, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant effect. This medication is used in the management of agitation and withdrawal symptoms in patients with substance dependence. It is important that its use be supervised by a physician, who will determine the appropriate dose and treatment regimen according to the patient's specific needs.

Composition

Each tablet contains 2 mg of Clonazepam as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the tablet formulation.

Contraindications

Clonazepam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clonazepam or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered in cases of severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome, or in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Its use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully evaluated by a physician.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Clonazepam to patients with a history of substance abuse, severe depression, or liver diseases. Abrupt discontinuation of treatment should be avoided to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Likewise, the possibility of adverse effects should be evaluated in elderly patients or in those taking other medications that may interact with clonazepam.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
