Indications

Clonazepam is used in the treatment of seizure disorders, including panic disorder and anxiety disorder. It is effective in reducing the frequency and severity of epileptic seizures. It is also indicated for the management of certain types of anxiety disorders and can be used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of substance-use-associated disorders. The physician should assess the patient's condition and determine the duration of treatment and appropriate dosage.

Composition

Each Clonazepam 2 mg tablet contains: Clonazepam 2 mg as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clonazepam or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory insufficiency, or those with a history of benzodiazepine dependence or substance abuse. Likewise, its administration should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and supervised by a physician.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of depression, suicide, or behavioral disorders. Clonazepam can cause dependence, so adequate medical monitoring is recommended during treatment. Treatment should not be stopped abruptly, as it can cause withdrawal symptoms. Caution should also be exercised when driving vehicles or operating heavy machinery, as it can cause drowsiness and affect reaction time.

Storage

Store the medication in a cool, dry place, at a temperature between 15 and 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
