Indications
Ciproflox 500 mg is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is used in urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, and other bacterial infections, including those complicated by the presence of resistant pathogens. It is effective in the treatment of skin and soft tissue, as well as bone and joint infections. This medication works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, which prevents bacteria from multiplying.
Composition
Each capsule contains 500 mg of ciprofloxacin and excipients.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other antibiotics of the fluoroquinolone class. Its use is not recommended in children and growing adolescents, as well as in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless otherwise indicated by a physician.
Precautions
Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of central nervous system diseases, such as epilepsy, as well as in those with renal insufficiency. It is important to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and not consume dairy products or calcium, iron, or zinc supplements together with the administration of the medication, as they may interfere with its absorption. Adequate clinical follow-up is recommended to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and the appearance of possible adverse effects.
