Indications
Ciproflox 500 mg is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various locations of the body. These include, but are not limited to, lower respiratory tract infections, complicated urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, as well as skin and soft tissue infections. It is also used in the treatment of chronic bacterial prostatitis and in the prophylaxis of infections in immunocompromised patients. Ciprofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, which contributes to the elimination of infection-causing bacteria.
Composition
Each capsule contains 500 mg of ciprofloxacin as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
The use of Ciproflox 500 mg is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of tendinitis or tendon rupture related to fluoroquinolone use.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with renal insufficiency, epilepsy, or a history of seizures. Use in pregnant and lactating women should be carefully evaluated, as well as in patients with central nervous system disorders. It is important to avoid direct sunlight exposure, as ciprofloxacin can increase sensitivity to sunlight.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
