Indications

Ciprofloxacin is indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, and other acute bacterial infections. It is also used in the treatment of certain skin infections and in the management of prophylaxis in cases of exposure to infectious agents. It is important that the use of Ciprofloxacin be based on the sensitivity of the microorganism causing the infection.

Composition

Each capsule contains 250 mg of ciprofloxacin as active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for its formulation and stability.

Contraindications

Ciprofloxacin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or any other component of the formulation. Its use is not recommended in children and growing adolescents, as it may affect joint development. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of tendinopathy related to fluoroquinolone use.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of central nervous system diseases, such as seizures or epilepsy. The use of Ciprofloxacin may be associated with adverse effects on the tendon, so it should be avoided in patients with a history of tendinopathy. Additionally, monitoring is recommended for patients with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustments may be required.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
